Advanced Placement Announcement
Posted 10/14/20

Good Afternoon, FUSD High School Students and Families:

The Advanced Placement Coordinators from the five FUSD comprehensive high schools have reviewed the criteria which details how students may be eligible to take an Advanced Placement (AP) examination. The coordinators have altered the criteria as follows:

Any students who are interested in taking an AP Exam as self-study or exam only may sign up through their school’s Total Registration website (links can be found at this website). These students will be placed on a waiting list. While payment will be asked, payments are only processed if a student is moved from the waiting list to the testing roster.

If and when space is available, students will be notified and have a window of opportunity to accept the open seat for the exam.  It is important to note that while we are hopeful conditions will allow for more test spaces to be available, spaces will be given to students who are enrolled in a specific AP course first. From the waiting list, preference for seating self-study students will be given to students in grades 12 on down.

Should the College Board revert to an online only test (not in-person) students that have indicated they would like to take the test will be accepted, pending payment. Students must sign up now (by October 23) to get on the waiting list.  FUSD will not accept any students to the waiting list after our AP enrollment period closes.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through AP testing during a national pandemic. As there are more developments with AP and COVID we will keep you informed.
